The Politics of Delusion

The other day, a friend emailed Thomas B. Edsall’s article “The Politics of Delusion Have Taken Hold” to me. In his note, he wrote:
 
This article speaks to Building Bridges Word by Word in several ways. Mostly, it highlights the extreme difficulty of changing attitudes and perceptions. (Yikes —we’re hardwired for bias!) Focusing on positive values and actions on the part of people with whom we may disagree politically seems more important than ever.
 
How can wesee beyond our political disagreements? Building Bridges Word by Word believes that by reading each other’s stories, we can discover that we may have something in common, maybe even agree on a few things.
